One said he used to go, but doesn't wish to go anymore, due to it not being to his liking & a dodgy theft element.TYREMAN wrote:The guy just wants to know if your going or not?
IF you don't like it then don't go! and no need to comment! i do not see why we have to have this yearly thing calling these shows and people that attend.Makes us look like we have our head stuck up our own arse.
Looking for a Spring bust up
Another said he never liked the place or the people it attracts
How that has anything to do with head stuck up arses I don't know . . .
I think personally think it was right to point out the high probability of theft for those considering staying.
Before you respond or go into your Spring bust up mode with me. I have been to Billing from the very early days & have also attended the last 2 years.
I can also confirm there were quite a bit of stuff stolen last year, some minor admittedly, some far worse, never the less it happened.
I was not personally affected, but if I had of been, then I would now be typing a different response.
Using your same thought process, if you don't like what you read, then ignore it or skip to the next post or lighten up

I've been going to the Summer Nats at Billing for 20+ years and always enjoyed it. The main attraction is to catch up with friends amongst the Mopars at the back of the field. It's still the biggest gathering of American vehicles in the UK, and amongst the rows of Dayvans and 80's 4 door sedans, there are always a few rarities that are worth a look. The Country and Western types are harmless and faintly amusing. It's a pleasant location with loads of room, and still good value to enter. We never camped, but stayed at the Marriot down the road and enjoyed a fine meal with friends on the Saturday night.
But it does seem to have gone downhill in recent years. There used to be dozens of stalls selling car related stuff, but now it's all pound shop tat. I've noticed a few pikey types, and certainly wouldn't leave the car with the windows rolled down like I used to. And the Marriot is now a Holiday Inn and has gone down the toilet.
If I lived a bit closer, I'd probably still go, but I'm gonna try the Victory Wheelers South Coast Nationals at Beaulieu this year, which is the same weekend (18/19 June). I've heard good reports.
