Shifter Removal

I am sure this is quite easy, but I want to get the centre console out of my Charger.

How do I get the Knob off the shifter? I have read the manual but it isnt that clear.

Ooops, by the way, its the factory shifter not an after market one.

clive there is a little allen head grub screw in the shifter top bit it is facing to rear of car about 2" from the top knob, slack that off then unscrew the centre button it will rotate all the top off the shifter and come off

Nice one - Thanks Duncan. Just the console, front seats and carpet to come out and its off to John Castleman. I got bits everywhere.
