if the pitman arm is still standard all thats in there is a rubber bush.....
the pin it can deflect about 1/2 an inch
add that to natural slop on a steering box and amplify it by the linkages out to the wheels and you will have quite a bit of play

you can pop the back off a pitman arm and replace the rubber with brass or alluminum
obvioulsy need to tap for a grease nipple

the main stud is a hefty fat T shaped mushroom bit...its not a candidate for snapping. this change brings the pitman arm set-up in line with early GM cars. rubber just used so you are less likely to chop off a finger on the spokes of your tuffwheel and reduces a bit of vibration at the wheel.

can provide instructions that ive stolen from better informed geezers elsewhere

same can be done with the idlers

track rods on my charger flex so i guess unless he has something more solid in there they are bending all over as well.

as i understand it wheelie looks good but compromises the et ????
Yeah I would get that sorted, looks good but were here to get 60ft times, if your going up your wasting energy in the wrong direction and not going forward fast enough, it will slow the ET and you'll lose races in competition.
