Took the plastic pig to get it's nose painted on Wednesday and collected it this morning.
I was very impressed with the work done by Alan Logan at Alspray. http://www.alspray.co.uk/
I had a huge number of deep stone chips on the front which the previous owner had tried to cover up by rubbing it down with coarse paper and shooting an aerosol of not-quite-matching silver paint over the top.
Alan has done a great job for me and even gave the rear panel a machine polish at no extra charge when he noticed it was a little dull from someone repeatedly wiping the road dirt off instead of washing it off. It took Alan three hours just to mask the front end due to all the awkward lights and openings.
Cost was £350. Not cheap but I am well happy with the result.

The car needs lowering badly.
I don't like all that air above the tyres in the wheel arches.
You can lower a C5 Corvette about an inch "quite easily" with the factory adjustments at each wheel. So I decided to have a go.
Problem is that although this might be "easy" on a dry state car, this one has seen a lot of road salt.
I was struggling with the adjustment so decided to un-bolt the bottom of the gas shock to make access easier.
First mounting bolt sheared right off with little effort.
I found an old Whitworth nut and bolt that was an almost perfect replacement but if another were to break I would be up the smelly creek for the Fastlane show tomorrow as I can't find anything else that would fit.
So I decided to leave this task for another day. I will buy some bolts first.

Just found enough information to work out the power curve for my engine as standard.
RPM..................HP...............Torque
1000rpm.............57...............300lbs
1400rpm.............85...............320lbs
2500rpm.............161..............340lbs
4000rpm.............274..............360lbs
5200rpm.............350..............354lbs
Looks like it probably has a pretty flat torque curve from 3000-6000rpm and not a lot less all the way from idle.
