they do rotate, but i think they were installed as per photo, i only ran the engine for 3 hours. hence they haven't moved. i would think if they are install in line they are less lightly to rotate, as the compression and oil will force its way through the gap. as always lesson learned the hard way maybe i should have totally stripped the engine before it went in.

Hi there,Nick Eagle wrote:new door cards fitted found them on ebay fit is great ( the guy make about six different pattern's and ships to uk from the states.he is planing to make replacement seat covers as well.i was please to find the stainless trims when sifting through the pile of bit i picked with the car.
i painted the backings for the arm rests as the chrome had worn off again i will replace at a later date
Sorry to hijack the thread but do you have details of the guy that does the pattern door cards, although he may not cover my model. My 71 Charger ones are perished beneath the vinyl. At present I am cutting hardboard to replace the factory stuff (the metal upper panel is ok) and stripping all the perished bakelite textured coating from the rear panels/kick pods and sail panels/pillars. I'm getting there but it's taking weeks....!!
Cheers, Rich

rebuild kit finally turned up. customs take longer every time i buy something from the states. bores were honed and new ring gaped, they were standard and out of the box they were 17- 19 thou. piston and bottom end is back together. i have replace the valve stem seals as they came in the rebuild kit. heads to go on this weekend.

well it doesn't smoke any more. ran the engine up today had a slight misfire then a sudden loss of oil pressure on a restart. i didn't put two and two together but after a good few hours, i finally found two bent push rods, the loss of oil pressure was because the hydraulic lifter jump out and the oil just spilled from the gallery. I've posted a want advert for two push rods come on guys i only need two 383 push rods they are 8 1/2 inches long. i hate i only work on my own car i would of found the fault much quick when i worked on the spanners, grrrrrrrrrrr tonight i don't luv mopars. still kicking myself up the arse for missing that i didn't seat the push rods correctly.
