One step forward two steps back. after putting a few miles on the engine, which is running well apart from a slight clatter from the rockers, i think i will have to fit a new set, they are hardly loading the hydraulic tappets when on the back of the cam. the two steps back. the gearbox was lazy changing into top, and on start up sometime took forever to select gears. the short of it the box came out and both clutch packs are burnt.

the front clutch assembly has been moving its lightly scored the epy gears casing.endfloat on the input shaft was a little excessive before i stripped the box, hopefully a new set of fibre thrust will sort this. i ordered a rebuild kit including both bands and a set of thrust washers inc shipping from the states. it was still cheaper than real steel.for just the rebuild kit without postage.

seat belts were fitted before the gearbox came out

lower column bush turned up from the states, with a fuel tank filler neck rubber o ring. both were fitted.

thanks simon shame the gearbox was playing up but lets face it its the only part that i haven't overhauled. parts have left USA. probably sat in customs. i also ordered a set of rear seat covers replica 69 roadrunner will go well with the front bucket seats. here's a pic of the rear seat. he sells sets but did a deal for just the rear. normal price is $250.00 plus shipping for a set here a link to his ebay profile if anyone is interested.

gearbox rebuild kit turned up when i fully stripped the box the casing was damaged.sorted a box from kiwi and rebuilt it. back in and running great 3 nice gear changes. still waiting on the seat covers found that they were only shipped yesterday. working the weekend. but i will put some miles on the car monday and tuesday. ;)

new exhaust system. had a stainless system made up sending the pipes over the axle and out the back. the side exhausts were to noisy and very close to the ground. at the same time a had the front suspension fully aligned caster,camber and tracking.

new door seals and truck seal fitted. old one were missing. hopefully its water tight now.
