727 cooling hose size and thread type

Post by Anonymous »

after my engine mount snapped, i noticed a kink in one of the cooling lines.please does anyone know the size of the line and what thread size screws into the transmission housing.i am also considering whether to change to hose rather than steel lines.any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I changed my damaged steel pipes with copper central heating pipe using the same ends which I took off the original steel pipes. The copper pipes are easy to flare with a widely available flaring tool. I was given this advice by one of the speed shops, sorry I can't remember which one. Since fitting the copper pipe the car has done many thousands of miles without a hitch. A cheap solution without going to the expense of buying a high pressure flexi pipe. :)

If you want to be fancy, -6AN steel braided hydraulic hose with 1/8NPT adaptors to screw into the trans casing.
