A little update. Getting close now, still have some parts on order, namely new windscreens, drivers door window, front shocks.
Work done so far, holes in floor welded up,new rear brakes and pipes, new rear spring bushes and shocks, complete rewire, including 12v/alternator conversion, near rear lights/halogen headlights, fit indicators and circuit as this truck never had indicators fitted. Now have flashing brake/sidelight setup. Edd made up a voltage reducer for the fuel gauge, cost £ 2.30 with components from Maplins. Here's a few picks to be going on with

Climate change, global warming, the biggest tax raising scam ever devised by man for mankind.
Sunny day,so toys out of the box! Truck now sports a 235ci engine from a '54 something or another, possibly a car. Nearly everything is done, mainly just some tidying of wires, adjust and bleed brakes, finish exhaust etc. Body has had one coat of clear over rust.
The reason for the engine change was the fact that the old 216 was smoking badly, too bad to pass mot. It seems the cast iron rings are stuck to the ultra lightweight cast iron pistons 235 has alloy pistons and revs well over the 3300rpm that the 216 manages

Steve. That has to be the best pickup I have seen for a while.
Love it.
Always wondered what the best way to preserve rusty panels was so the rust is still evident but protected as much as possible.
Paint or wax????
Will the clear just start to flake off quickly or will it last a while?
Time will tell with the clear lacquer, the aim is to give it a rub down in the spring and hit it with some more coats. Truck resides outdoors and it's holding up well so far.
Just ordered what should be the final batch of parts to get on the road, what's great is that almost every part is available new, even a cab roof
Got a slight overheating problem at the moment, guess it's the thermostat as the rad gets hot from the bottom

Today was MoT day. Not even driven it more than a few feet,so taking it 2 miles to the other end of town could have been fraught with all sorts of teething troubles.
It wasn't,everything was fine, very rough n ready, great fun loads of looks.
And YES it has a nice new MoT,so off to Brighton VRO on Monday to attempt registration.
Still plenty of jobs to do,like new door cards and seat upholstery, but it lives

Great news! That's a cracking truck, as long as you can fit down that narrow hill to the VRO at Brighton (if I remember right) and they can clearly see your chassis and engine numbers, Bob's your uncle!
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.
