I was there but all round bad day for me..
Got there about 10am,car got a bit warm on the way there(only 30 miles)
Temp got to about 200-210.
I decided not to run up the strip in case of further problems.
The further problems happened on way home.
Doing about 50 mph on the a46 back to Coventry, the temperature shot off the scale and I had to shut her down.
Ride back with the r.a.c.
Checking it this morning, looks like the water pump has failed and boiled her up..
Looks like a new pump and a pair of head gaskets.
Bananarama! off does not even come close!!!

The Dart got too hot for comfort on the way up and back (runs hotter on the motorway with the 3.55s anyway) but never quite boiled over. But scrutineer spotted my trans has started dripping again so no racing for me

blinding weather and a lot of nice cars running, but still a frustrating day.

Wouldn't be so bad,but I've only managed 50 miles in the car since I've owned it.
Hopefully will be all done and back together for the nats..

Ran a 12.3 then 12.2 but I noticed the battery wasn't charging after the second run. Think the alternator has packed up because DaveB was good enough to let me try a new regulator and it wasn't that. Got the battery charged up with jump leads before I left and made it home ok.

Just bad luck mate..
The impeller on the water pump was severely corroded,to the point it wasn't moving any water.
Plus the rear main seal is leaking and now it needs head gaskets.
At this point I think I'm going to go through the motor, might as well as the top end and sump have got to come off to sort the bits..
Fingers crossed for the nats!!

Going to give it a few days as I'm so Bananarama! off with it at the moment,I need to find some love for the car again.
Wouldn't mind if it was a full race motor but it's only a mild setup.
I suppose these things happen
Just a bitter pill to swallow after so little time with the car..
