Got a new bike this week that is actually the right size for me. My Dads bike I had been using was too small.

But when stood next to the Corvette I suddenly realised just how low the 'vette is.

The roof of the 'Vette is higher than the seat of my pushbike by a mere 6 inches.

Timing slips.....

Three runs.
First run was short shifted to get the feel of it.

0.5474 Reaction
2.0593 60ft
8.769 @ 83mph to the 8th mile
13.50 @ 102.88 to the quarter.

Second run was an abortion due to hitting the rev limiter twice.
But a better 0.4497 reaction.

Third run felt "perfect". Reaction was 0.4253.
Shifts were bang on and i really felt it was the best run.
But it was only a 13.749 @ 100.83mph

So my conclusion from this is that GM got it right to start with and I would have been better off leaving the shifter in "Drive".

The vette limits rpm by shutting the fuel off so you really know when you have hit the limit.

Sorry I didn't see you on sunday mate. I did look but couldn't see you anywhere.

It had to happen.
Got a letter in the post this morning from the Police.

Seems they have a snapshot of me doing 41mph in a 30 limit.

Second time in over 30 years? The first time was in the late 1980s I think.

Still. Could have been a LOT worse....

Must have been a mobile cam. My Tom Tom usually warns me of those but didn't on this occasion. I should have updated it on the PC before going out.

I tried logging into the website to see the snapshot but it will not let me. I know I am putting in the correct details. :?

No wonder Hot Rodders use Corvette parts on their street Rods. There are so many sources for cheap used parts.

But you can even find good deals on new parts. There is a guy on the UK Corvette forum advertising a NEW crated LS1 engine for £4K "delivered".

It cost me and Mrs Woodhead almost that much to have the Challengers 440 hot tanked and machined at Hauser's years ago.

There are so many Vettes and parts out there, the market is saturated with both over here,

my bro tried to sell his 86 somewhat custom vette at auction, low miles very clean car and the highest bid was 12.5 k  HE DIDNT SELL, he wanted 20k and spent more than 3 k just shipping the car back and forth to Monterey Cali

Dave, did you and/or the Corvette win a trophy at the Euro Nats? I think I saw a picture, but no info why you were awarded?
