If you look at that NHRA sheet for 1968 Mopars I posted a link too, you will see that the standard carb for a 383 with auto box is a Carter 4401S mounted on manifold casting 2806301.

So 4401S was what you were looking for and it looks like that is what you found.

thanks to all for the help.

After checking the sheet that you posted the link to Dave, I had trouble finding the model number on the carb itself to confirm that it was the right carb on the car. Thanks to VGVIP for showing me where to find the model number.

All sorted for knowing which rebuild kit to get now.

at a guess the edelborck 650 AVS will be the modern equivelent

i.e different parts numbering
but parts fit
