Thanks for everything at the Nats

Post by Ivor »

Wow! What a weekend, In my book definitely one of the best yet...what recession?

I'd like to extend my special thanks to Martin Walker, Matt and Mandie Hollingsworth, Guy and Mary Papworth, Steve Edwards, Derek and Lizzie Carter and all those that helped out over the weekend, without you guys I would never have got the chance to se the Nostalgia fuynny car run and see how Dunc's mate (shag?) went in that rough and ready Charger, 8 seconds...oh yes!

I'd also like to extend our thanks to Tony O, Jim Wilson, Tim Holmes, Richard Berry and the rest of the Euronats team...good job all round I reckon...the wheelie competition was a stroke of genius.

Finally, it was sad to see that Jon Connoly spun a bearing on the friday, but his misfortune meant he could could lend some essential parts of his car to Roydon and Pete Wiseman, so they could run the Plodge.

That's the true spirit of the MMA and just one more reason, why Jon was presented with the MMA award.

I'm completely shagged out, but better crack on and try and earn a shilling! :thumbright:

Best Nats to date is what I'm hearing on the other channel :thumbright:

From my point of view, it was well worth the eye watering fuel bill driving the Mustang up from Cornwall as was the resulting bar bill. Good to meet up with faces old & new. Very nearly coaxed the old 73 into the 13's to boot

The whole event was a credit to scene & a credit to all those who made it happen.

Was it me? or was this year's event one of the best Nat's ever?

This year visitors from Germany and Austria drove their cars all the way to the Nats.

There were several firsts at the Nats:

For the first time we had a Funny Car, - all the way from Belgium

We also had the fabulous Allard dragster and a Top Fuel car on display.

The 'Wheels Up' competition was a huge success.
Welcome also to Ronnie Picardo and his wheel standing Corvette.

Everyone had a great time, and the weather was marvellous

You would never guess there's a recession. Santa Pod was heaving, - Some other events are falling back in popularity and attendance, - but not the Mopar Nat’s, So many people told me they are cutting back on shows but will always come to the ‘Mopars’. This also from Ford and GM owners who come every year to ‘play with the Mopar boys’.

I've just realised,. this is my 1,000th post! - 'took me long enough.
