My jaw dropped when I saw that car. I had somehow totally missed seeing it before the prize giving. What a machine. =P~

His name is Kirk, and he's a dealer in Leeds. He said a guy in Florida builds them for him. He still has the red 68 and yellow 69 RRs that he brought to the Nats last year. I had a chat with him - nice guy.

I also liked that, he even had the clip on belts to pull the windows up and down, although the originals had thin perspex style side windows. It would have been nice to see it venture down the track though.
A friend of mine from notts had his 64 max wedge style clone there as well.
He completely built the car himself, including the engine and box from an old straight 6 police car, unfortunately, just didn't manage to finish the little bits in time but still a great effort.

Yes Mick, the red 64 Savoy was my favourite car there, and I wasn't alone - it won "Participant's Choice" or something. Here's a couple of pics of Kirk's cars...

Hi Adam,
I totally agree, the red 64 Savoy was the car of the show for me too. A lot of time, research, and money has gone into that car. I absolutely love it.

Jim
He has done a lot of research and did everything on the car himself, he even made his own rotiseree (sp). The motor has the .557 mopar flat tappet cam in it, i believe the car will run at least low 12's maybe more, he will be running it at the HRD's.

Savoy is a cracking job :thumbright: Lends itself to some nice period style artwork and lettering too.
