*updated* - many pics. Superbird - rescued.

Post by morgan »

Chap who works at the same company as me (stateside though) and I got talking a while ago. Led onto american cars - he has a new challenger and we swapped a couple of pics etc. Mopar chap. All good stuff.

He mentions in conversation that his brother in law knows of a superbird that has been sitting in a shed for 30 years. Thinks he might be able to get it etc etc... Didnt think to much of it at the time.

Well he mails me yesterday. He's only gone and got hold of it ! See pics - first time its rolled in 30 years. As you can see its had a freaky paint job at some point, and the nose has been de-seamed. Later car, and seats are original (I thought they were all bench, but apparently not). Even wheels are standard fit.

Original car was Vit C Orange. Plans to restore back to factory look.

You see boys - they are still out there... Just needs a lucky break. Enjoy...

AKA Go Mango on a Dodge.

It is leans more to orange where Hemi Orange actually leans more to red.

I agree :thumbright:

What i like about this is it comes from the time when these were just a fun old car.Kids only bought them because they like them and wanted to drive them rather than buy it for an investment.

I like how they customized the paint in the Mid Late 70s

This car was clearly used and loved 8-) so i would be tempted to leave it as is =P~ there are plenty of freshly restored Superbirds around, but how many mildly customised unrestored Birds survive?

Thanks for posting :thumbright:
