Fuel Prices

Post by Anonymous »

Dear FairFuelUK Supporter,

Oil prices have fallen, but what we pay at the pump for petrol and diesel remains far too high! FairFuelUK is pushing harder than ever to tackle this. Earlier this week, we were in Parliament forcing the petrol and diesel price issue back on the agenda. The Oil companies need to pass on reductions in the cost of Oil. If they don’t, the Government needs to take action. That said, the Government needs to do much more about fuel tax. It needs to abandon its current plan to increase fuel tax in January 2012. It needs to understand that the current high level of fuel tax is hurting motorists, businesses and the road hauliers. High fuel taxes are strangling the economic recovery.

The Government needs a plan to REDUCE, not increase, fuel tax.

We can't fight this campaign with just 160,000 people behind us .... We need hundreds of thousands more from every corner of Britain.

We've changed the way that our web site works to make it easier for you to help us achieve this increase in support. Please go to the site at www.fairfueluk.com and select 'tell a friend' or click directly to this link http://bit.ly/FFUK-tell_a_friend .

The "tell a friend" page will give you some options. You can type in up to 10 separate email addresses. Better still, if you are on AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Gmail etc, you can select "Load Contacts From Your Email Account" and the site will send out an invitation to all your contacts at the click of a button.

With your help in the run up to this years Budget we forced the Government to abandon its planned massive hike in fuel taxes planned for April of 5p per litre. We couldn’t have done that without you. We now need to keep the pressure on. Please, even if you never normally foward on messages, do go to ‘tell a friend’ and help us spread the word.

To keep you updated on what we are doing, please see below a personal message from Quentin Willson and some links to recent media ...

Well maybe a more military based type of action is needed? Because every year the same circular emails pop up and nothing ever happens apart from the price of fuel going up.

Am i right in thinking that back in April they brought in some sort of escilator for fuel.

Did'nt give it my full concentration but believed that the lowest fuel would go would be £1.30PL?

The trade off being that it was capped at a higher level too. So if fuel prices roketed, it would stop at say £1.50 and, the goverment would pick up the rise above that in lower taxes.

IF it however it dropped below £1.30 the goverment pocket the extra?

Nun, vielleicht eine militärische Basis Art von Maßnahmen sind erforderlich? Weil jedes Jahr die gleichen kreisförmigen E-Mails auftauchen und nichts passiert außer der Preis für Kraftstoff steigen.

Dear FairFuelUK Supporter,

We need to get 100,000 signatures on the Govt ePetition site to force MPs and Ministers to face up to the on going crisis of petrol and diesel prices. Getting the 100,000 really matters. Under new Government rules, getting this number of signatures means that the issue will be have to be debated in Parliament.

We currently have just over 67,000 signatures. If you have already signed this vital Government ePetition, please accept our thanks. If you haven’t signed, please do so now. To have the most impact, we need to have the 100,000 before the politicians go the various Party conferences at the end of September.

Please note, this ePetition is on the Government’s official site. It is different from the FairFuelUK.com ePetition that you may have signed some time ago. The easiest way to sign is to follow this link http://www.bit.ly/FFUK-Gov

Whether you have signed in the past, or are just about to sign now, please forward this email to at least a handful of your family, friends or contacts. By that means, our message will reach more people.

FairFuelUK is backed by the RAC, and the two bodies that represent Britain’s hard pressed road freight companies, the Freight Transport Association and the Road Haulage Association. Most importantly, it is backed by over 180,000 members of the public.

We have been working hard over the summer. We will have much to tell you about in the coming weeks. However, for now, the priority is to reach the 100,000 on http://www.bit.ly/FFUK-Gov

Together, we can do this …

Kind regards,

The FairFuelUK Team

Half the cynics in the country either don't believe it will have any effect whatsoever or simply too bone idle to be bothered to spend two minutes of their precious time signing the petition and then just carry on whingeing.
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.
