The brakes on the Newport were gradually getting less and less effective with an increasingly spongy pedal so thought best to look into it before they went completely!
Took the top off the master cylinder to find it empty. Topped it up and started to bleed the brakes.
1st problem - LH back wheel, the nipple sheared straight off (looks pretty corroded) leaving the remainder flush with the wheel hub. Could it be drilled out & replaced, or will I need to replace the whole rear hub plate?
2nd problem - Started on the fronts and noticed that there was fluid p***ing out of the bottom of the servo unit (still some coming out of the bleed nipples though). Is the master cylinder piston etc inside the servo unit, which is what is leaking so I need a master cylinder overhaul kit, or could it be the servo itself that's knackered?
Any help appreciated guys. Hopefully have found a service manual in the states which should give a bit of help with these kind of things..
