hydraulic lifters

my lifters are getting noisy,after a run but gradually quiten down! I have good oil pressure,so would it be ok to just change the lifters? if so are standard ok,the engine`s basically standard I think the cams std or mild,what would be the best hydraulic lifters to use ,any ideas?? is it possible to check cam in situ ,to find out what it is? cheers

i think that the smallblock and gig blocck ones are the same?

I'd just chuck in a cheap set, no point spending loads if the cam is an unknown quantity, you could try just stripping and cleaning them if you're really on a budget.
