solid engine mounts
would solid engine mounts be ok for my sb 67 cuda? would all the stress go some where else and break something?
I wouldn't use them on the street. Yes the stress will go elsewhere but probably won't be a problem, but the noise and vibration will be a lot worse. Most people I know of who've done it switch back (or some use one solid and one rubber).
Real question is not "why not", but "why"? You can get the benefit of limiting movement by using a torque strap of some type or a limiting engine mount.
But...personal preference.

i was just wondering. my engine mounts will arrive the day after the mopar nats. so instead of buying some second hand ones for the weekend i could make some but they will be solid. was just making sure that it would be ok for a week or two on the street??? dont wanna break anying else. that would be just my luck!
Joe, I might have the right mount. I'm right down the road from you in Cheshunt.
If you wanted it you'd be welcome to borrow it for as long as you need it. Or you could buy the two for a few quid, either is fine by me.
If that might work then let me know and I'll post a pic so you can check it's the right one. If not - go for the solid, you'll be fine for a few weeks.
