you wont need a clear coat unless your doing it in basecoat, if its a straight non mettalic colour just paint your 2k over the stone chip, you can thin your stone chip down a bit if you want it to flow out better for a smoother finish.autofetish wrote:I noticed you also used a clear coat to Bananarama! off am i also better to do this ??
For what its worth I por15'd my box sections and used spray on 'stoneguard' on the rest. Car doesnt really go out in the wet anyway, and the object of my exercise was to assess what I had and protect ongoing (luckily it was all pretty solid, but that was just luck really).
Looks pretty nice (not as nice as yours, but pretty good for a 'scraped-it-off-by-hand-on-my-back-under-car' job)
Looking good Wil !

It took the guy with the Pink Challenger a week to scrape the underside before he painted it...all laying on his back...ouch
I removed everything under my car Sand blasted the under side and all parts powder coated the lot in black, so glad i did still looks nice after 15 + years never have to touch it
Then Stone proofed the underside in black virtually bullet proof....stones are no problem.
