I agree, it should be moved to the race section.

I'll see if I can move it to the race section without losing it altogether because it's interesting stuff!
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Hi Jon, Les, and All.

I've build plenty of motors, big and small and its all down to Budget!
I know of £10k engines in £5k cars that are well OTT.
You obviously have to balance the build costs of the whole car.
A good Big-block will make 500horses at approx £2500-£3000.
Try building a 500horse smallblock at that price that will last a season?
Almost everthing else on the car is the same spec, just 150lbs weight saving.
A good diet for most folks will save 50lbs LoL!!! :D

Hi again Folks,

Fresh from Mother Mopar.

How's about the 440 Super Commando engine?
530 horses, 540 ftlbs of talk.
Pump Gas 10 to 1 pistons
251/257 @ .050 603 lift bumpstick.
Ali heads with 1.6:1 rockeroos.
Set you back $13,000 buckaroos.
Tad expensive maybe, oh yes its a smallblock LoL!
That's almost Hemi money

That's why people still run 440 bigblocks!!!

Good find there Jon!

These 'Indy Engines' are of course 'one off's'.
As Les has said, anyone doing competitive racing would need a back-up motor, and a back-up trans too!
If you have a failure half way through a season, you are stuffed if you don't.
(I have done competitive motor sport and had a run of three championship winning seasons with a fairly basic Classic saloon.)
Once you step up to a big money formula, you need a BIG Wallet.

Most of the Weekend warriors in the MMA have enough dosh for one run at a time!
If that run is completed without a failure, we do another one LoL!

Bacca wants the 655 INDY Predator NOW! only, yes only, $42K

Yes Bacs, the name "Hot Metal" is up for grabs...lets say £1000 and I'll be happy

In fact you know if I'd registered that name, I reckon Vauxhall would've paid me ££££££'s, as not long after they had an advertising campaign using that name for their hot hatches like the Nova GTE....damn it!
