That vid raises alot of questions???
Why are 10.5 cars running low sevens?
Is that a Liberty or Lenco in the AMC?
How many gears was that?
How does that shifter work?
Why is the AMC SO UGLY LoL???
Should have used an AMX, or Daytona body, much more aero!!!
I got a headcahe now, Bacca

Doug Nash built the first aftermarket manual transmissions in the early '70's, very strong, fairly light, good choice of ratios and five speeds. Could also be had in a torque tube version that could be shifted without using the clutch, which is what I think is in that AMX. Richmond later took the company over, not sure if they are still being made. The Clutchflite was something B&M came up with in the mid '60's. They took a torqueflight and cut the bell housing off to fit a scatter shield and a clutch in place of the torque convertor. They shifted very violently because of the lack of cushioning a torque convertor provides, they were also very prone to breakage and explosions. You would find them in Gassers and early funny cars. Similar versions of Ford and Chevy automatics were also available. Their use pretty much came to an end with advances in torque convertor technology and the invention of the lenco transmission in the mid '70's. With the interest in nostalgia drag racing these days, parts for Clutchflites and now being made again for those brave enough to use one. Here endeth the lesson
