Brake bleed?
Hi Guys. I'm looking for a way to improve the brakes on my Valiant without going as far as converting to discs. Non power 9" drums all round so they're about as poor as it gets! They pass the MOT on the rollers every time but are frightening on the road, to the point where I try & avoid going down any long hills as there's nothing left by the time I get to the bottom! Full force on the pedal & the car won't stop! No sign of any leaks & all the linings are ok although I do have a new set of front shoes. First thought was fresh fluid, a bleed up & maybe a Wilwood proportioning valve. Any thoughts / suggestions? Thanks, Wayne.
Gotta go for DISC'S!
Anything else is waste of time and money.
You is just delaying the inevitable conversion.
(Yes 10inch drums but they ain't gonna fit you spindles?)
A body full conversion set on 'EURODRAGSTER' if your quick.
SSBC and other Ford poo conversions are £1000 and up.
Wilwoods are TOOO expensive and not truly streetable.
If you are clever and have access to machinery, Ford Granada discs work well on A-bodies, as the 'Anton' land-cruiser convert won't fit under your skinny wheels BOOHOO.
Think I got some early A-Body discus spindles somewhere, will have a looksy for you Fella.
Best of luck, and stay on the Flat LoL< Baccaman.
