Welding gas- where do you get yours?

Post by MattH »

I've been with BOC for 20 years and paid bottle rental every year.

Just been told about Adams Gas.

They do the gas I need (Argon with 5% CO2 mix) at £36 a bottle and rather than a contract with annual rental they charge a refundable deposit only of £55, and deliver to the door by next day courier for £10 delivery.

I sorted it out in 5 minutes over the phone with a debit card, nothing else needed. SIMPLES.

For me using a bottle about once a year, this seems to work out as a huge saving over annual rental with minimum contracts.

They deliver anywhere in the UK, and for those in Kent and Surrey / South London you can collect as well.

Well worth a look if you are a hobby welder, or even a business.

I'm with Adams as well, their distributor is in Marlow near High Wycombe, just down the road from me and the service is excellent, highly recommended!

Unfortunately there is no distributor up our way yet, so they send it by Courier.

I use these.

I live five minutes walk from the Air Liquide UK main distribution centre and one of their distributors, Midland Welding Supply, is just up the road from where I work.
No rental and you don't need regulators or flow meters, they're on the cylinder.

These are the full size , i.e 3 foot high 6 inch across.
Mine arrived at 8.30 this morning, well impressed.
I am just looking at the -4 temp outside and wondering if the garage is a good idea today.

Lots warmer when you are near a MIG torch and a 500W flood lamp.
