I got a nice big prop to shorten for my Challenger that came off my donor card carrying motorhome, the only thing is that its 4" in diameter.......................is it too fat for a street car? even at its present length, approx 56" it does'nt feel too heavy, just don't wanna go to all the trouble of shortening and balancing at Banbury to find out its not suitable
fingers crossed it will work for ade i use 3 1/2 diam prop and with the offset of the motor (e body) its quite close to the tunnel and loop, sounds like its worth a try
I'll be makin a prop loop shortly- can i pick your brains folks?
What side clearance?
What up n down clearance?
Bolt it to the floor or span across to the frame rails?
How far from the u.j.?
Would 25x 5mm chromoly be up to the job? (I just happen to have a length knocking around
One inch each side and two inches clearance, up and down.
The nearer you mount it to the front yoke the closer the tolerances.
25 x 5 is ample.
We always use the seat-bolts and holes where the front seats mount.
Have a look at a couple of websites Paul, you'll see some nice piccies and dimensions you can use for reference, try Summit, or have a look at the FBO uk site and ask Turnip if you wanna buy one
