Why we join clubs

Post by mike jones »

If you everwonder if its worth joining a club, here's a great reason. I popped out in the Fury for a quick run this afternoon and foolishly ran out of fuel. . while waiting for someone to come and rescue me, Rupert, the first member of the NW surrey Mopar Rescue Crew stopped to try to help. He rang Jules who quickly arrived with fuel.Sadly this was the point the starter motor packed up ! Rupert then towed me to Jules place where he lent me the neccessary tools to fit my spare starter (doesn't everbody carry one?) , and have a look at the 66 Coronet the pair of them are recomissioning, top job! All of this is on Ruperts Birthday to!
We truly are the best club in the world, thanks guys this could have turned out very differently. :)

Great story! This club is well cool, people just can't do enough for you on here :thumbright:

Do you still own the Barracuda in yer profile pic? I'm doing a full rest on one now and need some sheet metal, any pointers you can share with me?

I once had a top water hose split at one meet i went to.

Ian an ex member had one in his boot to lend me,i was surprised he had one

But like you he though it was normal to carry a boot full of spares, he had spare Starter/alternator/ and other bits just in case.

Sadly Ian had to Sell his 70 Coronet :( but the good news is he now has a cool 1970 Plymouth b body so i bet he re-joins.

Yup I've still got the Barracuda but its going to be for sale soon !
Laysons will supply panels but they seem to take your order and then wait until they have enough orders to produce a run of parts (7 months before i gave up on tail light lenses). You could try AMD or Shermans or Auto Rust Technicians. If you need any help or pics just give me a call

Hi Mike :)

Are Laysons still going? They were busted a few years ago (at Carlisle in 2008 i think) for selling counterfeit gear. And maybe again after that :?
Are they back up'n'running after that?

I'd try the others mentioned first to be on the safe side :help:

Completely agree.

Any issues i've had and people have offered advice and guidance.

Had Mopar performance manual and fuel gaskets for free from people too when just enquiring or having issues!!! :thumbright:

Its a niche market for Mopars which leads to a smallish club compared to others. I think this very fact helps with that homely feel and a very helpful and generous group of people.

Best forum/group i've ever been part of................... :thumbright:

 :pale: :sad4: :help:
EDIT:
This is supposed to be a Muscle car club, ignore all that soft lovey dovey Bananarama! i've written above! :D

Good bunch o guys on here. :thumbright:
