Hi all,
Recently browsing in Aldi and found some silver/ chrome tape which I just chucked in the pile of bits n pieces in my tool cab for a rainy day. Was messing with the door panels on my polara and noticed the horizontal chrome trim strips looked very worn. Rears had no chrome on. One strip still fine and original. They originally had a tape like chrome covering. Tried the tape which comes off backing like very tacky tin foil. Bit fiddly but after a couple of goes, it went on great and cant tell the difference between old original good strip and newly refurbed strips..... And all for a couple of quid!!
Cheers, steve

sorry for late reply re this, I was trying to remove the fairy liquid bottle.......oops!
Im not sure if this is like the air con tape mentioned, it is very thin when removed from the backing tape, and as my dad says about about everything, it sticks like Bananarama! to a blanket!! Its like really sticky tin foil.
The first pic shows the only original good trim, second pic shows tape on the horizontal trim piece and the last one shows the tape.... cheers steve
