Middle of last week Ru came round with abit of news that he'd picked up some carpet for the '66 that he thought would be a good match for the interior of the car, so brought round a sample to see. Also, he'd managed to pick up some of the old style jute/underlay too.

Happy with the shade of colour, this weekend's job was to refit a new carpet/underlay.

We used the old carpet and underlay as templates, got the old Stanley knife out and away we went (have you met me mate Stanley?)

We got most of it done Saturday (the light ran out on us), and then spent the evening in the workshop rebuilding an old Holley that I had for it :thumbright:

Sunday, the wives trundled off swimming for a few hours giving us more free time to finish off the carpet fitting.

Come the afternoon all was done, so we cracked on with a small little fault with the rear lights.... what fun that turned out to be....NOT!!

We ended up dismantling the turn signal assembly as thats where we'd traced it to.
(nothing to do with the cancel cam that we'd already fitted as we knew about the fault before teardown of the column)

The problem was probably just due to it's age and the fact it's been standing, as 1 of the terminals wasn't quite touching where it should. We're talking 1 1000th here!
The gap was so fine you didn't know there was a gap til you prodded it with a stick
NOT an obvious find, but we got there in the end, so now all the lights work as they should ;) (Thats another $100 saved  )

So, at least if we come across the problem again with another car, we know where to look 1st :D

All in all it was another productive weekend, and thanks to Phil coming round today, we actually managed to stop for a cup of tea
(nice to see you Phil :thumbright: )

Lights done is another step closer to getting an MoT on the ol' girl :thumbright:

What 'd'ya think to the colour?
