What is the best spring to use ???

How do I determine what poundage rear coil over springs to use on the back of my Dart. My best guestimate the car should weigh somewhere between 2900 and 3200 I would have thought. I am not sure what the weight split is does any one have a rought idea for a stripped out Dart with a 440, 15x15's four link rear end, fibreglass (bonnet-wings-dash-bumpers-boot) and a 10point cage. Maybe it weighs more i hope not

I had ordered in some nice new QA1 shocks as the old ones on the car were knackered, one seized and the adjuster didn't work on the other and I was going to use the old springs off of them but they dont fit. the i.d required on the QA1's is 2.5" and the springs I have is 2.25 bugger \ the trouble is I had to cut the top off the old shocks as everything was seized solid when I was trying to free the springs.

I really need to get this sorted as soon as I possibly can as the car is now stuck on my drive with no way of getting it back in my garage.

I think Roydon had 3000 lb car weight springs from QA1 on the Plodge - worked ok.

To give you some idea the Sox Barracuda with a BB and A727 and a 6 point cage weighed 3400lbs. It still had most of the interior then with Jazz seats and all glass windows......

After doing a bit of digging it looks like I will need a pair of 175lb spring for the rear.

Guy, my car is around 3000# without me, weight bias is around 54-46.

I went to AVO in Northampton today as i was in the area and picked up some 185lb springs as they dont do a 175lb spring in a 12" length they do feel quite a bit stiffer than the old ones so fingers crossed, at least I can get it moving again.
