So just how have you fixed your fibreglass trunk lid to your Dart, pictures would be a great help, I dont really want it flying off. Mine was originally held on with a pin on either side on the front edge and the weight of the silly spoiler held it down at the back, well the spoiler went into the bin a couple of years ago and I am not that keen on using the pins again
.
The Plodge has 2 x Dzus at the lip near the rear screen and 2 x hood-style pins at the rear for added security - all OK untill you drive off in the pits and lose them... Use Lanyards if you go this way
Guy,
Is it not possible to bond it or fix it to the original hinges so it says on and fit the original key lock ?? no worrys about staying on and will look stock and stealth.
Paul and myself have to do this on his 68 at some point.
ALL KILLER NO FILLER
Nostalgia, its not what it used to be.

Do you just let the back edge flop around on the Plodge ?

The hinges were long gone when I bought it Steve, with the thickness of the fibreglass the key lock area is between two and three inches away from the lock catch.

We just put some self-adhesive rubber padding on the boot lip to support the edges. Nice and light and stops vibration/rubbing.....
Guy i've just done mine a few weeks ago, i riveted 4 dzus plates on, and cut rubber strips as a gasket under the plates and to bring it flush with the body. I was reasonably please with the results. Came out a lot better than the water based paint i put on it, i made a right mess of it.
I can post you a couple of pics if you like.
Mick
i think botty rays dart has 3 zues across the front edge of the lid by the screen 1 either side roughly where the butt stripe would be and 4 across the bottom rear lip above the bumper its perfect
