Its all a question of $$$$ and for 21 quid a 440 block and dana to play with has to be the one.

Plus new axle shafts, gear ratio may be an issue.
440 will be shot, probably overheated and not serviced as it is a pain in the ass to access..........

Your £21 will buy you an empty axle case which is not a car version anyway and a bare block that will need much machine work and be OK as long as it is not cracked.

It will also cost you a ton of money to transport and a ton of work to get those two parts that are all you could use from the thing.

No idea why you are insisting on a 440 anyway when a 400 is so much stronger.

Buy it Wil, it will clean up nice and look great in the pits at the Nats.
As far as robbing bit's of it for your car NAH don't do it.
Buy a crate motor and billet axle it will be cheaper in the long run and a damn site quicker with guaranteed results.
When you picking the truck up? ;)

I looked at all the options for building a Dana, and then went and bought new.
Go with 11" Drum brakes on the back and forget discs..........
