We were next to run when the Camaro chinned the barrier. Shut the track for the day on a session of endless oil downs and stoppages, all very slow.

Very sad to see the car take a big hit.
Surprisingly an all steel car, serious panel damage the whole length of the car. I guess that will re-join with a Glass front end.

Sunday saw more runs and trouble free, mind you we left at 14:00..

Good to meet up with a few of you and thanks to Big block for that jerry can of v power - was running low - hope you get that reverse band fixed. Nice and warm pity the timing lights at the top end were bananamrd so early in the afternoon.

Sorry Mark, didn't pay attention, I can't remember if the poxy timing gear had failed by then or not, and the cocks in the tower were only giving info on what they fancied by the sound of it, I just remember it looking a bit underwhelming on the pass I saw, considering how tough it looks I expected a lot more that's all..........and I was concentratin on a massive whippy

Its my old flamed duster, Owned by Martin Green, runs a blown BBC, Des Taylor drove it last year, Scott Dixon Grainger (Kasey 'KC' Dixon Grainger's little brother) was driving it this weekend, believe he ran a 9.2 1st time in a race car! the car ran 8.6 last year at york, with plenty more left

Yep, he'd taken out the 60 ft light and was in the other lane when he got back on it and then hit the barrier, should have kept off it, there was no chance of making a decent run of it at that point. Andy Fadster probably has the nickname of track closer by now, he had the very first run on Sat and oiled the whole length of the track. He took out the 60ft lights twice after that...

Good diagnosis, Duncan - Blue and I had a similar conversation.

At one point the Crew would not let Andy run with another car, given that he was consistently using both lanes most of the time.

However, he seemed to soften the tune/launch and then ran a straight no dramas 8.30 at over 170mph. Awesome! Given that he does around 3000 miles per year on the street Amazing stuff given that there are so many lame cars at the track not doing the numbers..........
