CONNECTED MAGAZINE - COLOUR v SIZE
Moderator: Moderators
Got mine yesterday. Had a quick flick through as I was busy on the '66 when the postie arrived.
Thought to myself...... a couple more colour photos would have been nice
Then today I see this thread
No prizes for guessing which way my vote went

For info...
I think there would be slightly less content in the A5 smaller version - needs to be of a thickness that complies with PO maximum. Going to A5 would save significantly on postage.
Re pictures - depends how the layout goes but obviously you wont get anything the size you do with A4 which means they're not as special IMHO.
There are arguments for and against either action - which is why we opened it up to a vote by the readers.
Interesting some are saying they would pay more to keep it A4 full colour. Did not put this out as an option - membership has dropped and thought an increase would not help reverse that.
Keep the views coming...

I would definitely pay more on membership to have a full colour A4 mag, it's nice to appreciate all the hard work that people have put into their vehicles.
If that's not an option though I would go with the A4 with less colour as long as the images are available on-line to view somewhere, maybe even an online version of the mag (being a web developer I can assist with this) or even a downloadable PDF.

Its a great mag and format as it stands.
What sort of difference are we talking about ? £5/yr ? £10/yr ? I mean if its negligible then we should consider.
I think the size is important factor. Much as I love the colour, that can be uploaded as a PDF on the website for those that want it I guess.

I'll confess I haven't had chance to read it yet, but is there anything in the mag about this.? Think a load of members don't come near the forum, so you'd need to ask the readers who don't post to get the true feedback.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

been too busy reading mine since Saturday to post a Thank You to all who work hard to make the mag possible cheers guys. Could future issues come with crayons? so we can colour our own
. I think the current setup is worth a bit more if needed, other club mags I've had in the past have gone to A5 and it seemed a bit "village flyer" like after being used to A4 especially without colour. Connected looks and reads a bloomin good club mag

I was in my mid teens before we go a colour TV at home so grew up with B&W.
To this day I still perfer B&W photography to colour in most cases. I would question the value of having everything in colour.
I would do the whole thing in B&W except the front and rear cover and (as already suggested) offer a full colour version in PDF format which could be stored online and accessed at any time. That would also give us a very good libary resource for the future.
If this club is still here in 10, 20 or even 50 years time it would be nice if the new owners of our cars could look back and find documented history about our cars in the form of the club magazine.
If we did this now then the future generations would admire us for our foresight.
