Hey everyone. Thanks for the undeserved praise, i figured if i could cut at least an average light i could reel him in, unfortunately he cut his best light of the weekend, .017 to my sluggish .4 something and i did my usual lane wander at the wrong time, tried in vain to chase him down but lost by a fender.
Other than that and the slightly grim friday weather, enjoyed the weekend, Jim, Nick and Pete kindly furnished me with something to eat and a few beers, they also let me crash in their marquis, which i thought we might be floating out of by sat morning but fortunately the rain relented.
Thanks Pete for getting this class going, i think it has the potential, to grow into something akin to the old muscle car wars. Lol.
HI Dunc
I dont think you're speaking out of turn at all, just expressing your opinion and to use your own words, i also have the skin of a rhinoceros.
I dont think my problem is down to the burnout, i ran between 1.41 and 1.46 all weekend, so i feel my car is hooking reasonably well and a quick glance at the quarter mile list showed your 9.44 ran a 1.42. ;)
I may take a while to stage but that is because i like to get staged first, so i do my burn out and get into prestage asap, maybe i should speed this process up to keep the tyres from cooling.
I'm going to check the pitman and idler arms tomorrow and tighten up the steering box, also i might get the car aligned properly and possibly get some 1" lowering blocks. It's only this year , that the car has started moving around like this, so i need to try and remedy it to move forward.

nice one mick
i was in no way having a nasty dig, but i really do feel you need to give that some real stick static in the bleach box and then drive out hard in top gear stage her up and on it straight away the way your car sixty fts at the mo you never no it may go a 1.39 and its not just the launch you car makes good power so maybe needs better traction through out the quarter,
i just know any of my cars i have raced will not perform correct with a short burnout the odd times i have tried it ie when i have noticed my tyres getting low on rubber so tried to make it through an event the things were a handfull and on a serious note my 60s were not to good as it was always bogging of the line it was a davinci carb and had a problem it should have been a 1.39 may then go a 9.3 ;)

and i am glad you did not take offence you wave the mopar banner at a lot of meets thats a good thing................

Hi Mark, what speed was that 13.6 at? If it's summat like 105, you just need to get off the line better - like us.
There's a good 12 sec run in there if youre hitting 105 or more across the line.

13.6 is a reasonable time for a full weight street car, is it a 440 ?
