Post by Dart Vader »

Anyone got one of those wheels arch roller things that bolts to the hub and may help me eek out a bit of room under my rear wheel arch?

Will be at Nats if you have one..

Just get a circular length of bar (like a jack handle) and use the wheel/tyre to progressively put a curve in the wheel lip. Simples.

I just dont want to screw it up, only need 1-2cm (thats what Mrs Vader says anyway :D )

I'm just worried I may crack the paint or something, anyone else recommend this way? Not that I dont trust your advice, just like to hear how this method worked for others

That's how we did my Duster.
The bar rotates with the wheel motion and smoothes out the progression around the wheel lip. You run it around several times only making small deflections on each pass to reduce the risk of distortion or cracking paint (which is still a risk).

You angle the bar inwards so that you are "working" the inner lip and not the outer lip that is visible........

A baseball bat works well. And if you screw it up you've got something to take it out on.

This is the 'proper' one Justin-

I like Pete's method though, can't see why it won't do just as good a job.
No-one will believe you...
