I agree with Duncan, great weekend and no moans what so ever from me, even waiting in the lanes to race is ok as its a great chance to chat with your 'neighbours' and push each others cars! Ok, so my car seemed to be plagued with problems, fixed one then another cropped up but still enjoyed the weekend immensely. Only managed a 12.0 instead of a pb of 11.6 but still.... A big thanks from me to all the organisers and cant wait for next year. Gonna try and get the 'Bird in the 10's so a big goal for me

Don it will take a lot of cash & a big motor to get the bird into the 10's but worth every penny, go for it

Andy, thanks for the reply and your knowledge is much appreciated. The motor is just short of 8 litre and currently rated (according to Mopar Performance) at 550bhp. Is squeezing another second out of it all possible do you think? My current PB is 11.62 at 118mph and a 1.7 60' time. The 3.93 rear has woke the car up no end but the motor is still a stock hemi.

Most on here know a lot more than me, but with a full weight B body you need a hell of lot more power to go just a little bit faster.
11.6 is a good time & about right for a 550 bhp full lard b body, that what my red runner used to run 493 ci 850 demon etc

Awesome Hemi car, saw one of your runs on saturday....but to go from 11.6 to 10.9 will require another 75hp or so as things stand,.....what I would do is make sure you put all new plugs in before you run at the track if you don't already?, street plugs won't help, check your timing and all settings...make sure the motor and carb/s are well on song first, and if your really serious, set up another diff with 4.56 gears and put them in, unless you run a Dana?..you gotta get that weight moving quicker in the first 60, that'll make a big difference, only prob is you may run out of cam?, don't think rpm or heads will be a prob ;),

10's as it stands?......don't think so, maybe 11.3 with the gears? and a motor well on song and good air, the motor may fall down a bit at the top end though?....don't know whats in it.

All the best with it

Thanks Andy and Les for your expert advice. I was just speaking to Ian at Hausers and he pretty much said the same thing. He said to launch that big ol' b body quicker off the line i'm either going to have to spend a fortune on the 472, or the better option would be to go for bigger cubes - maybe like 572 which should give me close to 700bhp. The rough running on the Saturday turned out to be carb accelerator pump adjuster came loose, lost its clearance and caused over fuelling, other problems included a valve cover gasket that decided to start weeping, luckily Dave B had a set of new gaskets. I think the weather took care of the rest of Sunday, still a great weekend tho, great to spend a bit of time with Duncan, and Mick with the Dart who i pitched next to, really nice guy and so knowledgable.
