Here's my 2010 Harley Davidson Super Glide. This is my 5th HD and my favourite so far.
Everone seems to go for the standard 'Stage 1' which is little more than a de-emission to enable the engine to breathe.
I decided to go a few steps further and had the Screamin Eagle Stage IV kit dealer fitted. This practically doubles the power of the HD engine. Rear wheel horse power is now over 110hp. Lovely, all HD's should be built like this.

This is my SE Stage IV conversion:
Worth every penny. Most people here are blissfully unaware of the options just offered by HD, let alone any other company. I think UK dealers just want to take around £700 from every customer for a stage one conversion (which I admit every Harley has to have that at the very least) when that money could contribute towards something a lot more exciting. You can see from HD’s own graphs that a standard 96” engine makes around 63hp this SE Stage IV increases that to about 110hp and a huge increase in torque – well worth having. My Super Glide flies.
SCREAMIN ’ EAG LE® PRO STAGE I V KIT –
103 CUBIC INCHES
Here’s a 103 cubic inch racing kit that puts it all together for
you. If you’re looking to build a fast, track-ready, 103 kit and
want to buy all the components you need to maximize your
results, here’s the kit! This eliminates the guess work on what
components you should use and what works well together.
We’ve put all the components together including SE performance
heads that provide a great performance upgrade
for a 103ci at a very attractive price. Kit includes our high performance
/ high-flow Screamin’ Eagle® Performance
110+ Heads which include large intake valves at 2.120" diameter
(our biggest ever), high-compression forged aluminum
10.5:1 pistons matched to the 110+ heads, an SE260 cam to
open the valves appropriately, allowing the right balance of
air and fuel to enter, Perfect-Fit Pushrods to accommodate
the higher cam lift, a 58mm EFI throttle body to get that air
flow to the heads, big 3-7/8" diameter highlighted cylinders,
then topping off this kit off with a “must have” Super Tuner
to provide the right tuning capabilities. Kit includes gaskets.
My EVO Super Glide was Stage I and it was embarassing.........2 wheeled art rather than transport..........I am sure yours is much more satisfying.....
Harley did produce bikes with decent performance straight out the showroom, at a price that didn't take the Bananarama!, they were called Buells. But they managed to completely Bananarama! that up.

I had a rolling Cota 250 frame tank/seat just like that Pete that a mate gave to me after his wife had the scrap man take the engine and gearbox away, they weren't getting on very well I don't think, he wasn't very happy. I kept it for a while and then gave it to a mate because I had a Sherpa 350 and those Montesas were really a pile of Bananarama! to be honest.
