poly 318 ????

can anyone tell me an easy way to tell a poly from a later 318 please??? Its in a 1960 plymouth fury if that helps?? cheers rich...

And Poly`s have either 2 or 3 valve cover bolts v`s la`s 5 ( I think ? )

Simplest way of telling the Poly 318 is the bolts through the top of the rocker covers...

Up to '61 there were three of them, after that they dropped the centre one out..
The 318 Poly engine's bottom end is pretty much identical to the LA. Just a bit of wasting of some weight here and there on the LA so it could be the 'Lightweight A' engine, while the Poly was the 'A' engine.
