Had a look in the book Blue and this car doesnt feature unfortunately, and not in the Otis Chandler collection either...... But get this.... There is a section on the 70 and 71 Hemicuda Convertibles and the 7O Hemi R/T Challengers.... Briefly, on pricing...and bearing in mind the book says the dealers struggled to sell these cars...by late 70s, $10k for a good car, mid 80's $20k, late 80's, just into $100k territory, mid 90's, $250k, and in 1999, a 71 Hemicuda convertible, siezed in Washington State following a drugs siezure, sold at auction for $410k! That was enough to buy the Police Deot a new fleet if cars! By 2001/2, a few changed hands for between $500 and $750k. Then, in 2002, Milton Robson from Atlanta sold his car for $1m, to an 'infamous broker' who aledgedly quickly resold it for $1.3m. This deal cant be documented but it was last sold on in Jan 2007 for $2,420,000!!!
It gets better!.... The last Hemicuda built was 'recently' sold to Bill Weimann from Arizona, by Carlos Monteverde, from Kensington in London. Weimann has turned down an offer of $4.1m for the car!!!
Was going to say I will treat myself if I win the lottery but I think I will have to win it more than once!
Cheers , Steve
