I figured this was a good place for this I DID find something

Drew that sounds like your problem could be the ignition switch (they die after 40 years) or a bad connection in the connector on the column

It is the switch , and it is only 5 years old

The pot metal body has gotten loose with the plastic wiring harness and when I would turn the key it would flex and separate, and loose connection/contact

and the spring inside is knackered so a new one is on order I hope it lasts longer than 5 friggin years for crying out loud :x

Yes indeed the fact is I posted this and it made me think and not assume the switch was bad

I thought it might have been the MSD box or something else but since the switch was only 5 years old how could it be bad? ...............well it was bad ,so good on you Dave
