Dodge D600 car hauler

Post by Jon Connolly »

Thought I`d move this to the workshop thread

I have sourced 6 new 20" tyres from a friend I had forgotten about who had a commercial tyre business ;)

I have sussed the steel frame required and how to do the body so will start in a couple of weeks. Sides will be sheet alluminium with a full width pass through locker.

Paint will be red to match my Daytona with white " superstock " style sides and " Snake " style stars up the bonnet

light as poss Jon, I can see this weighing in at 3 ton empty if your not carefull ;) cos thats what an unloaded dually ram weighs.
And make the ramps light, easy to use & wide cos all the home made jobbies I see have the ramps to narrow & too short.
Have the winch inside the body with only a roller showing, so you can leave parked outside
Thats my experinces shared for the day.

The last thing I want to do is tow one to the track

Really cool, it's a shame you can't add on the over the cab bit to the body, Always liked the look of that. Do you remember the Blue Rose truck from years ago? that was a pretty good ramp truck.
