Go Blue !

Post by Alex »

For those of you who had gone by the time the trophy hand outs happened.

The MMA had an award to present this year, the committee had to chose format, car or person or anything else we liked ! we had a long meeting to decide what to do on Saturday night, we talked through different ideas and cars then decided to choose a person who best represented what the MMA is about, in essance, someone who knows and is passionate about Mopars, is willing and eager to help others even though they miss out themselves from time to time, helps in person, on line and over the phone etc you get the idea !

It did not take long to decide who would be first to recieve the new MMA trophy at the Nats....

The person we chose was BLUE, John (as he is sometimes known) spends his Nats whizzing around in his alcohol powered flip flops helping others, giving advice, and generally being a great bloke. He brought Pete's fantastic Sox & Martin car to the Nats for Pete to race and every time we saw him during the daytime at least he was helping work on other cars as well as that one, a very deserving person for the trophy we thought.

We tricked him into getting the trophy by telling him the S&M car had placed in the top ten and Pete's other car had really won the Winged Warriors award so we needed him to run the car around ! hehehehe!

From all the guys you help Blue, and from the MMA as a whole, thanks for all the work you do behind the scenes for everyone and congratulations !

I`m sure I`ll be one of the first in a long line to congratulate Blue on this award.I would also like to thank him for entertaining us on Friday night. Those flip-flops were most definitely alcohol powered,he could not keep still and was fast walking in large circles past all the groups of people chatting,he was coming past once every couple of minutes at one point. Also enjoyed the chat about 70`s/80`s customs.I`m off to look for the Ugliness car now!!!

Blue's helped more than half of all the club members at some point; this award is well deserved and long overdue :)

Now get that Dart finished! :D

Excellent! And well deserved. I left just as the trophies started, I would have stayed if I'd known that!

I'm definitely one of the people Blue has helped and it is very much appreciated.
I'm sure there are members who would not even still be in the hobby if it wasn't for Blue.

Well done mate! Totally deserved. You are appreciated!

A well earned/deserved award. I only phoned Blue for a secondhand radiator when my car was running 15.5s. Look at it now! It's all down to help and advise from the top man! (Mind you, I'm skint now!)

Superb, it could't have been presented to a nicer guy...we had a great conversation about 70's cars well into the niight and he even brought flares around to the tent so we could see what we were drinking...it wouldn't have been 70's without flares would it?

And by way of a change I'll be doing Blue a favour this week, helping him get a 440 together for his Dart...hope he's left enough meat for the valve seats after he's been porting :)

Go Blue!

Well I just don't know what to say! I was totally gobsmacked when I jumped out of Pete's sox car expecting to pick up a top ten award for him! I don't think I've ever received an award before! Thanks for all your kind words, this is a great club with many members willing to go the extra mile to help others out which is exactly how it should be, long may it continue! I'm alway's happy to help out at the track, I just love it when someone manages to run that bit faster, can't have those Fraud and Chivvy boys running rings around us! Thanks again, it was the perfect end to a fantastic weekend!
