1969 RoadRunner Mix Matched Torsion Bars

Post by GranSport »

1969 RoadRunner Aircon. Auto.

All very original stock looking and untouched drum braked front suspension which is now stripped out.

Drivers side torsion bar is 2x silver stripes .90" code 779
Pass. side torsion bar is 1 x green stripe .88" code 776

Can I assume that the passenger side is incorrect? No obvious reason why it was replaced.

If so, does anyone have a 778 pass side .90" bar (standard Charger)

Thx
Eddie

i think they done that from the factory ,maybe to account for fattys or it is sopposed to offset torque and also your engine is mounted to one side ,they should be different poundages

Never.

They fitted stronger leaf springs on one side on the rear of the big block R/T models but never different front torsion bars.
