Which Parts Cleaner Fluid?
I've just bought a Clarkes Parts Cleaner from Machine Mart and they sell two types of cleaner fluid. One is spirit based and is diluted with paraffin, the other is diluted with water.
Anybody had any experience of these or others and can offer any advice on the pros and cons?
Thanks.

Yes up until now Steve I've used Jizer and a hosepipe, was hoping that either cleaners would negate the need for Jizer as well.
I did try them out tonight on a (bike) rocker cover, didn't seem much difference between the two on the inside where it was just engine oil but the spirit based did seem a little better on the outside where it was more stubborn crud.

I bought one and thought it would be the be all and end all of parts cleaning...unfortunately I found I still needed the Jizer and brush and the parts cleaner just rinsed the loose crud off. There isnt any real pressure in mine, its just hot water tap pressure so doesnt 'jetwash' the part, but does away with the hosepipe.....You could put diluted Jizer in it but then you need a separate rinsing source....
I scrub it all in the parts cleaner with jizer , rinse in a bucket of warm soapy water then wait till Mrs B goes out and bang the bits in the dishwasher!

Cheers Steve

Still good Martin...just keeps all the mess in one place if you use the jizer in it. All the scrubbing and mucky stuff in the washer, rinse it all in a bucket and its like having another set of hands pouring the cleaner on....still a good bit of kit mate!
If anything, I wish I had bought the bigger one now, small good for bikes but Mopar stuff quite a bit bigger..
Cheers Steve
