Top wishbones
Probably a daft question, answered dozens of times in the past, but are E body challenger top wishbones interchangeable with A body dart ones? Ball joints the same taper???
... and "A" Body Top arms come in 2 different sizes as well; known (unsurprisingly) as "Large" or "Small". Small Ball Joints are getting harder to get hold of these days, and tis is reflected in the price.
By rights, you car "should" have "Small" but could have been changed out at some point.........

Sounds like you could be heading for the new Heim-type adjustables unless members like Jon Conolly or Mick Deakin who specialise in "A" Bodies have any spare parts.
May be worth a "Wanted" advert.
I can also ask my mate who has a "Large" set up availble but these have 10" Drums.....
You CAN change the Control Arms out for "Large" type ones, but you will have to change out the Lower Control Arms and knuckles as well.
Slippery slope time again, I'm afraid.

Think I've been leading everyone including myself, up the garden path!! Finished work early yesterday, so started work on the car. The top wishbones in the box marked "challenger" are identical to the ones on the car, albeit I haven't split the top balljoint to check the taper size. Also in the same box are a pair of 11" vented discs and 4-pot KH calipers, and small bolt pattern hubs. Am I right in thinking this lot is off something like a later Dart or Duster, and I don't posess any challenger front brakes???

Stripped one side out today before an onslaught of kids and grandkids - I've got big balljoints, so all the kit that came with the car looks like it will fit. Last job remaining for tomorrow is to take out the wishbone - I'va allocated an hour with spanners, then the angle grinder and cutting disc will be released! need to get the wishbone off anyway to repair the big hole in the chassis rail behind it.
Feel a lot more positive now I'm on the case!!

land crusier calipers fit with a bit of a fiddle, cast iron sumitomo caliper
have a search on here for landcruiser hilux etc in the message section with Dave999 as the poster
3.5 inch mounting centres
depends on rotor size on car and which landcruiser/hilux you get for a true bolt on
calipers for non vented disks need to be ground out slightly
those from a vented disk toyota do not
should fit with 14 inch wheels
and the calipers are designed for metric rotors so something measured in inches from a mopar will allways be about 3 mm too big in the diameter. if you know a man with a lathe that can be sorted out.

ebay second hand for 40-60 a pair
other calipers with 3.5 inch mounting
austin princess
jag 4 pot 15 inch wheels only
many wilwood.
you can also fit mopar single pot girlock sliding caliper
2 types
first is like those on 66 mustang and VG VH aussie mopars and uses slider pins and bushes to mount a cliper on a big iron bracket
second is a later version of the same thing used on 73- aussie mopars
caliper fits into end of bracket rather than on pins. this is the better version but was aussie only
fitmnet is a function of the iron slider bracket its positions the caliper both radially and inboard/outboard to get it to fit the disk. i.e a set of a mustang will have a mustang sized iron bracket
still 3.5 inch mounting centres mind
