Worth it or not?

Post by V8 Sam »

Dear sir,
Thank you for your recent inquiry with Performance Suspension Technology.  We offer two different front end rebuild kits for this vehicle in rubber.  The standard front end kit sells for $229.00 and includes: upper and lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, upper and lower control arm bushings, stabilizer links, strut rod bushings and rebound bumpers.
The super front end kit provides everything from the standard kit plus the inner tie rod ends, adjustment sleeves, idler arm and cam bolt kits.  This kit sells for $389.00.  The rear rubber shackle bushing set sells for $138.00.  We can ship to United Kingdom

Got this reply from a place about the bushes for the dart

Question I was wondering is, it worth the extra for the bigger kit? Or should I
Not really bother? Far as I know mine are in adequate condition.

I just though as I was changing the controll arm I would do the rest at tw same time then it's done.

You will feel a difference with all new bushes. But if you are happy with the car as it is save your money.

I have used PST myself in the past (many many years ago). They are OK.

I was looking at the normal kit for now, but if it's going to be
Worth it will grab the $389 kit instead.

I would go for the bigger kit. Don't see the point of doing half a job.

If you do the whole front end from upper arms to the lower arms and everything therebetween ,get the whole enchilada , you WILL notice a big difference, replace everything you can while it is down ;)

Btw PST is still some what the standard over here, they do a pretty good job as long as you know what you are looking for :thumbright:

if you know your sizes and types of parts and can cross ref with aussie car

Roger on here can supply pedders branded stuff, www.pedders.co.uk its aussie so you know its designed not only for the flat concrete highways but also the lumpy un capped roads of country areas, aussie stuff is all small balljoint much like 68 dart.

choose chrylser--> valiant--67-78 VE VF VG VH VJ VK CL

obvioulsy i'd be wary regarding idler and pitman they may be handed for RHD, never checked but pedders will know as massive influx of US mopar into aus over last ten years due to good exchange rate

measure your rear spring eye bushes as the aussies swapped size in 74 if you plan to do the rear

rockauto can supply moog branded stuff which is good

check which strut rod bushes you have 3 peice or 1 piece, the rest is the same upper and lower bushes the cam bolts and washers etc

track rod ends same
track rod sleaves same.

ebay can supply stuff in chrylser boxes for a cost

i'd try and get chrysler branded NOS upper and lower balljoints with the plastic/rubber original seal, and a grease fitting

i paid £80 for uppers recently never been out of the box since 1970

get the rest from any of the suppliers, but avoid stuff labelled "Problem Solver" there is a reason it is half the cost
