I think I just overloaded myself. I can't take a heavy workload on like I could a few years ago.
I think I will see if I can finish the course by doing a few hours every weekend. I should feel better without the pressure of a test.

can always get yourself a vespa PX or T5 for work
none of the fun of biking more like driving a turbo charged donkey...
with no saddle and no where to clamp your knees into
7 BHP through a wheel the size of a saucer still gives you a small kick in the backside and, you will be first off from the lights for the first 1.5- 2 seconds.
by 4 seconds a big bike is 1/2 a mile down the road but you get the joy of trying
scootering scene is full of ex bikers who can't be arsed with the technical aspect of bikes and riding them, they find solace in a place where everything is no longer a competition but still like to feel the freedom of nipping along with the wind in their helmet and progressing through traffic on a gnats pee of petrol
the bike equivelent of owning a mini a beetle or a 2CV. 80 mpg your tyres last longer than 3 month and cost 30 quid not 200 each
yes you can still pull wheelies
yes its got a manual gearbox so its technicaly a motor cycle but you change the gears with your hand like you are supposed to.
no knee scrapers, no slipper clutches expensive carbon fibre farings to replace after your hips have been replaced
and the biggest plus
you don't have to hang about with too many bankers soliciters and estate agents
or drink in the 3 bulls heads
Motec scooters sheilds road.
Once you have learned you're allowed to drive a 200 cc lambretta 8 BHP ...now thats a mans machine, takes guts and a well developed sense of humour.
When the tail light bulb blows it cuts off power to the ignition...NICE
and one area of vintage motor vehicle ownership where a completed project is always worth more than you spent, if you do some of it yerself

DON'T DO IT!!!!!
I personally think scooters are lethal with some fundemental design errors - High Centre of gravity, negative caster - just what you need driving in the pot holes and drain covers whilst getting out of the way of faster traffic.
Give yourself a break from it, but I sense your heart is not really in it.
If it is not enjoyable then don't do it.
Never mind, you gave it a go

That's a shame Daveman, I say stick with it for a couple more weekends like you plan to and see how it goes. When you are relaxed and let yourself enjoy it you'll be pleased you persevered, promise
Don't forget that learning a whole new discipline in life is not easy let alone for someone who's survived a potentially lethal brain virus in the very recent past.........
When you're gliding thru the middle of town traffic jams on ya shiny Bonny lookalike in the summer you'll 'get it'
