I test rode the first S1000RR and it was crazy fast, genuinely too much for the road IMO. The feedback the bike gave was low though, it really only rewards track riding. It was like riding a fast dishwasher or something, a little soulless.

This is the 3rd S1000 I've had, granted its a lot different to the standard bikes but I loved the 1st one, you felt you could do anything with it, inspired that much confidence, rear wheel steering, 3 figure wheelies, riding off the edge of the tyre, it just never seemed to impress me.
Track days were mental, 165 down the Revitt straight at Snetterton, a set of sliders after every session, Bananarama! loved it ;)
The last one was a face lifted and reworked model, more aggressive power delivery, handling was even sharper, almost scalpel like in its precision. This bike is a HP variant of the current model but is really a different bike bar the motor, output is way up but that's down to a full titanium Akropovic exhaust and a race mapped engine management system.
It has an 8500 rpm limiter on it till 1000km run in and then I can fit the track day coded plug into the ecu and screw the tits off of it ........
I think the St.Christopher ginge got me a few years ago will earn its money this summer :D
