the dodge wrote:just had a google of mopar engine colours and different years were different colours, apart from the hemi which was either street orange or race orange, i thought i read that the 340 being a performance engine was also only painted orange? but cant find anything about it
the dodge wrote:that sort of confirms what info i could find - it wasnt accurate, some sites say one date this colour, other sites say different a different colour, like you say it doesnt really matter much if "you" want your engine a colour paint it that colour, incidently what colour is that blue, the blue on my 318 looks deeper than that more of a royal colour, is that the turquoise blue-green?

What difference does it make what colour it is ?

The poor bloke said he's been out of work for ages, no money, yet managed to keep his chin up & put the motor together on limited funds & keep the rest of his world in tack..... & you want to know if he's painted the block the right bloody colour...

Congrats on the build, full credit to you & glad you posted the pics :thumbright:

and your point is?

i looked at the pictures dave posted and assumed it was a 340 which i thought were all painted orange (i cant remember where i got that info from) i wasnt being critical at all, infact i now know a bit more about mopar engine colours than i did before looking at this post :read2:

Scenario for you.

Your out of work
You have no money
You have some parts put a side
By what ever means you manage to use your time, efforts in building a hot little fuel injected small block
So pleased with your acomplishments, you post a thread & pics

Then, to use your phrase, a Bananarama! comes along and says ' Thats the worong colour for that engine'

Thats my point. . . .

Apologies Dave for screwing up your thread.
