Many yanks cars got a reg for the year they were imported. It is easy to get a them registered for the correct year these days as long as you get a letter from this club.
Worth while too for the free road tax.
Or it could be he is being naughty and just stuck some plates on and hoped the Old Bill didn't notice.

That's right Dave, my Charger is K reg as it landed here in 1971 and somehow it still exsist's!

Yep I remember, I grey imported a 73 Formula 350 4 speed and it got a V reg
in 1980
