Ok update on this, have decided not to go turbo route for now, due to lack of time with 4 cars on go, money, etc, so going to build a stroker 400 (hopefully) with the 727 trans and try to get it on road for now, the turbo build can come at a later date :)

Not trying to be an arse here as I'm sure you know what you are doing. Knowing how deep those oil pans are and how close to the engine the K frame normally is, Assuming the car is going to be sitting very low, Are you sure your crossmember will have some ground clearance?

Hi Blue,

measured with wheels on and looks to be around 3", suspension will be quite firm so should not dip much, did the bars like that to save sump, might put a ali skid pan on crossmember so that it hits that first, wont know for sur yet till wheels on and and i get the ride height looking something like, with the 19" wheels and not going with skinny low profiles it should sit a bit higher even though the wheels are tucked under arches,

where that hub is at the moment i placed at loaded ride height, but i think it might look a bit to low at that,

Paul.

Ok tried front wheel on, dont know if this looks right or not, but tried lower and higher and this looks about right ride height, which gives me around 4 1/2" sump clearance,

what do you think to ride height????????

thanks Paul.

That actually looks a little tall to me Paul. My Chally is about 2" less than that, don't bottom out ever. How big an exhaust have you got to hang under there?

Yea, looks high to me too, judging by the sill to ramp distance and the way your 19" wheels sit in the wheel arch. Perhaps Ade could get you a ground to top of wheelarch measurement from his car to see where you are, I think you might need to go lower by about 3".

If you are making your own cross member, why didn't you go for a dragster style oil pan, then you don't have ground clearance problems, it's what is fitted on my Coronet after hitting the sump big time. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mil-3 ... make/dodge
